Stormwater Overflow Investigation – Manly

We attended a property in Manly to investigate a stormwater plumbing issue affecting the right-hand side of the property, which was causing water to overflow into the neighbouring property and flood the driveway. The water was also penetrating through the ground and collecting under the property.

Our team:

• Visually inspected the stormwater pipes
• Used high-pressure jetting to remove tree roots throughout the stormwater pipe
• Conducted a CCTV inspection to assess the condition of the stormwater pipe

We discovered that the stormwater pipe, running from the concrete pit at the back of the property to the curb, was blocked with debris and heavily infested with roots. The earthenware pipe had multiple cracks and dislodgments, which were allowing roots to enter the pipework. Additionally, a section of the pipe had lifted due to ground movement and surrounding tree roots, causing water to pool inside and creating a space for further debris to accumulate.

We recommended regular maintenance and also advised the client to keep the system clear and functioning efficiently.

This proactive solution will help prevent future flooding and protect the property from water damage.
